Android – Create Android project in Android Studio 2.0

Up till now, we have created many android applications in Android Studio 1.4  like:

In the last article, we have seen Android Studio – Released New Android - Create Android project in Android Studio 2.0Preview version 2.0. Today, we will learn how to create Android project in Android Studio 2.0. If you are new to Android development, then this article will definitely help you a lot.

Android –  Create Android project in Android Studio 2.0

To perform this application we will follow below steps:

1. Open Android Studio. Click on “Start a new Android Studio Project”

2. Then Specify your Application Name, App Package Name, and project location. Click on “Next” button.

3. Specify the minimum SDK for your project and click on “Next” button.

4. Select “Blank activity”. However you can choose any activity according to your project needs. Click on “Next” button.

5. After clicking “Next” wait for some time till project gets created. After project creation, you will find yourself in the IDE. This is how it looks like:

6. Click on “Main Activity” and Click on “Run”.

7. You will see below screen. Choose your emulator and click “Ok” button. (We assume that you know how to create AVD or use genymotion or USB devive to run app)
